Individual Therapy For Adults and Teens
- Issues I Work With:
- My specialty is working with adults with childhood trauma (sexual, physical, or emotional abuse); or abandonment (loss of parent, or having an abusive or narcissistic parent).
- I also specialize in treatment for anxiety, panic attacks, and depression.
- I provide treatment for people wanting to improve relationships of all types. I often see one person who wants to change a relationship, but who has a spouse that is unwilling to try therapy. I also work with committed couples who have a stable committed foundation, but whose difficulties are around intimacy fears, trauma, distancing to avoid conflict, and avoidance.
- I often see clients with self-esteem difficulties, loving people who have felt extremely sensitive most of their lives, and who can feel easily criticized and rejected in relationships.
- I have a special interest in helping clients who have learned to
self soothe and comfort emotional distress with food and other substances.
- I work with clients who have suffered losses (relationship, parent, spouse, friend, or pet).
Session Scheduling:
I see clients Tuesday through Friday from 10-5pm.
Session Frequency:
I typically meet with individuals and couples once per week
for fifty-minute sessions. On occasion, I see patients more
or less often. We decide together what frequency makes sense
for you based on your needs, goals, and resources.
Fees:
$120 per session for individuals;
$150 per session for couples.
Insurance: I am considered an out-of-network provider for PPO insurance plans.
This means that my client pays the full fee directly to me, and I provide a statement so
that you may apply for reimbursement. Most plans pay back 40-80% to you,
and it depends on your level of coverage. Some plans even reimburse the full
fee for a set number of sessions. If you have a PPO plan, I highly recommend
applying for reimbursement as it can significantly reduce your out of pocket
expenses. Even with all other plans, I still recommend that you call and ask
if your insurance will reimburse for out-of-network providers, and what the
reimbursement rate might be.
