EMDR - Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing EMDR, also known as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, is a therapy method clinically proven to be highly effective for trauma recovery. I am currently in advanced EMDR training and I offer this highly useful therapy to my patients for trauma, anxiety, panic, depression, stress, and self growth. Traumatized individuals get triggered daily by old memories, sensations, feelings, and thoughts, then react in ways that cause problems in their life. EMDR targets the trauma memories stored in the primitive part of our brain which are not accessible to our adult thinking. When the old experiences are linked up to current and better experiences during therapy--memory, perception, thinking, and feeling can be transformed. We literally can process and think about old trauma from a calm and wise adult perspective. Even when trauma is not specifically remembered, but is felt or sensed as a disturbance, EMDR is very effective.
